We are proud that people are at the heart of everything we do. Our people make the difference. It’s really rewarding being a volunteer at Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre (MAVC) keeping the memory of 106 Squadron and RAF Metheringham alive for future generations.
There are volunteer roles for all ages (over 18) and abilities and full training will be provided.

Volunteer - Front of house
Volunteer - Museum
The role of a front of house volunteer is varied and will include training in all aspects of running the visitor centre, including customer service, staffing the onsite shop, guiding visitors, staffing a small cafe, administration, supporting school visits and keeping the centre clean and tidy for visitors.
The role of a museum volunteer includes helping to care for the museum’s varied collection, administration, entering data into computers, scanning, digitizing, photography and research.
Specific volunteer vacancies
Fundraising Officer (Grants, Trusts) - researching applying for funding
Volunteer Coordinator - managing rotas and volunteer recruitment
Education Officer - organising and running school visits
Site Maintenance Coordinator - practical skills and managing contractors
(Note: each role can be shared between two people)
