We are pleased to announce that our full 2026 lecture programme is now confirmed thanks to some great work by new Lecture Coordinator, Ray Sellers, ably assisted by Kate Sell who gathers all the information needed to promote each event.

As per last year, lectures are free to members presenting a valid membership card on the evening. For non-members, lectures cost £7.00 per person per event. This is payable at reception on arrival or tickets can be purchased in advance through our online shop.

Details of our first lecture can be found below and tickets for the event are now available in our online store HERE.

Lecture Night, Wednesday 29th July 2026 - "The Greatest Force: Bomber Command in WW2" presented by Marcus Gibson

Picture

Our fifth lecture of 2026 is presented by former Financial Times columnist Marcus Gibson.

“The Greatest Force”, is a book which analyses for the first time the full, crippling impact of RAF Bomber Command against the Third Reich. In this, the most controversial war book of recent years, he overturns all previous histories and reveals why the campaign shortened the Second World War.

Marcus will have books for sale on the evening and will be able to sign copies.

As usual, the lecture will take place in the Peter Scoley Hall. Doors open at 7.00 PM and the lecture starts at 7.30 PM. There will be a short interval around 8.15 PM with the lecture normally closing around 9.45 PM. Entry is free for members presenting a valid membership card. Tickets for non-members are available on the door or you can buy in advance through our online store HERE.

Avoid the queues. Tickets are now available from our online store HERE

We look forward to welcoming you back to Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre for our third lecture of the year.
